About Me
I’m Zian, a New York City based wedding photographer also specializing in couples, engagements, and the moments in between. I blend documentary and fashion photography with intention, capturing the candid, spontaneous, unposed moments that make a relationship feel like itself while still paying close attention to light, composition, and atmosphere.
My photographs feel less like a photoshoot and more like a memory. Rather than relying on posing, I give just enough direction to help you feel comfortable, then let the interaction between you take over. The result is intimate, cinematic imagery with an emotional and nostalgic quality — photographs that feel personal and distinctly yours.
I shoot across Manhattan and Brooklyn — Central Park, Bryant Park, Washington Square Park, East and West Villages, Soho, Chelsea, High Line, Dumbo, Williamsburg, Lower East Side, Union Square, and more. If you already have a location in mind or prefer recommendations, I’ll help you select the most photogenic spots in NYC based on the types of photographs you’re looking for.
My Services
From $650
Couples sessions run about 90–120 minutes, with time to settle in and capture the quiet, spontaneous moments that define you: lingering glances, gentle touches, shared laughter, and the subtle rhythms of two people in love.
Rather than formal posing, I focus on natural interactions so your connection is the central element — candid moments that capture the feeling of being together.
From $1,000
Engagement sessions are about capturing this chapter of your relationship in a way that feels unmistakably yours. I photograph engagements and proposals (including the surprise ones!) throughout New York City, blending candid moments with romantic, editorial-inspired portraits that feel natural rather than overly posed.
Whether we're wandering through the West Village, catching golden light in Central Park, or photographing somewhere meaningful to the two of you, I'll help plan the location, light, and flow of the session. I'll guide you when you need it, then step back when the moment is already perfect — creating photographs that feel intimate, effortless, and alive.
From $5,000
My approach to wedding photography blends candid storytelling with timeless, editorial portraiture — preserving everything from the quiet moments before the ceremony to the people, movement, emotion, and the celebration itself.
Throughout the day, I'm looking for the quiet moments: a nervous glance before the ceremony, your parents watching from across the room, hands reaching for one another, and the energy of everyone you love in one place. When direction is needed, I'll give it; otherwise, I let the day unfold naturally. The result is a wedding gallery that doesn't simply document what everything looked like — it brings you back to how it felt.
Kind Words
“We love that you can feel New York in its authenticity in our photos—the streets, the yellow cabs, the wind out on the Hudson. Zian captured the little moments between us, and those are some of our favorites. The photographs are beautifully composed without looking overly staged, and they still feel like us. Looking through them feels like revisiting an afternoon we spent together rather than just looking at pictures from a photoshoot. There’s something really special about having the everyday parts of your relationship photographed that way.”
— Sophia & Mike
“Zian helped me plan our engagement session at a country club in Los Angeles, and he was so easy to work with throughout the whole process. He communicated clearly, helped coordinate the details, and arrived early on the day. I really appreciated not having to chase him for information or wonder whether everything was on track. He also delivered our photos ahead of schedule, which was such a lovely surprise. The photographs are beautiful, but the care he put into the entire experience mattered just as much. We felt looked after from the planning through to receiving our gallery.”
— Hannah & Garrett
“I asked Zian to hide in a bush and pretend to be our Uber driver to help keep my proposal a surprise, so this definitely wasn’t a straightforward photography booking! He worked through the details with me beforehand, arrived early, and spent nearly an hour photographing us from a distance without giving anything away. I really appreciated how much time and effort he put into making the plan work. He wasn’t just there for the moment I proposed—he captured the little moments leading up to it, too. Having those photographs, knowing everything that went into getting them, makes them even more meaningful to us.”

Sessions can happen anywhere that feels right for the two of you. That might be a neighborhood you spend time in, your apartment, a favorite bar or café, a waterfront, a park, or somewhere completely unfamiliar that fits the mood you want. In New York City, I usually choose locations based on light, movement, privacy, and how much of the city you want to feel in the photographs.
-
That is completely normal. I do not expect you to arrive knowing how to pose. I give enough direction to help with movement, posture, and where to place your attention, then let the interaction between you take over. The goal is for the photographs to feel natural rather than overly performed.
-
Yes! If your pet is part of your everyday life together, bringing them can make the session feel more personal. I just recommend choosing a location and timing that will also be comfortable for them :). And i’ll tell my cat Charlie they say hi ;)
-
Not at all! The right session depends on the photographs and experience you’re looking for, rather than your relationship status. A standard couples session works well for a relaxed afternoon together. Choose the extended engagement session for more shooting time, a more developed plan, and additional variety in locations or outfits.
