Shelby & Himanshu

📍 New York, New York

On an ordinary afternoon in Central Park, Shelby thought it was just another day together. Himanshu knew it was anything but.

We had planned everything quietly beforehand. I arrived early, found a spot where I could photograph them without giving away the surprise, and waited. For nearly an hour, I captured the two of them from a distance—the little conversations, the laughter, and all the ordinary moments leading up to one that would be anything but.

That’s what I love most about photographing a proposal: the story begins long before someone gets down on one knee. It’s in the anticipation, the nervous excitement, and those last few moments when only one person knows what’s about to happen.

And then, against the Manhattan skyline, Himanshu asked.

Shelby said yes.
